We worked with our primary vet to try and treat her bumblefoot, but when she did not respond to conventional treatment Hailey had to go in for surgery. The vet found her leg wasn't salvageable and Hailey became a double amputee. This gorgeous piggy girl has bounced back admirably and gets along without her front legs, but she's missing out on being able to run and play like a regular guinea pig. We took care of the infection and the pain, but we still want more for Hailey's quality of life.

After contacting several companies, we're thrilled to announce that we're working with Turbo Roo Designs LLC who are now working to design a 3D printed wheelchair just for Hailey. This same design could go on to help other guinea pigs who lose limbs enjoy full lives.
Can you help us get Hailey rollin'? We're anticipating that the design and production costs for Hailey's new custom ride will be around $400, and thanks to Iva Vyhnankova, we have a custom designed T-Shirt that we are selling to help offset Hailey's wheelchair costs.
Click here to order your t-shirt today! There are several options available including men's, women's, V-neck, tank-top, long-sleeve and sweatshirts.
If you would like to donate without purchasing a shirt, you can do so by visiting the North Star Rescue page and clicking the Donate button. Every amount helps and we are so grateful for your support!
We will be sure to share pictures of Hailey in her spiffy new wheelchair as soon as possible!
Help us spread the word and let the world know that you #rollwithhailey!
